Round 1 - 100uk rowrah
Setting off early Friday morning we had a good weekend in our sights.
We ran in engines on the Friday getting them race ready and scrubbing the tries into the track
On the Saturday we were hit with large amounts of rain which meant we got some good kart control practice
Moving on to the most important day now…
The Sunday….
Heat 1:
4th - 3rd
A really good battle with Hayden Taylor for 3rd place I managed to hold it till the line
Heat 2:
8th - 5th
Made a really good start pushing from the back of the grid with Hayden Taylor.
By lap 6 both me and Hayden were both yet again competing for the same position creating a really good race.
Heat 3:
5th - 3rd
Made a good start in this heat meaning I’d already moved up a place by the first corner.
By the end of the race we had caught up to the Tyro class pushing is juniors closer which meant I caught the leaders and managed to pick up another place by the end of the race.
Final:
As the weather set in it began to spit so the meeting was declared open so we made the now wrong decision to use the wets.
By the 3rd lap of the final I noticed that this choice was definitely wrong. I was being picked off by the people on slicks and then not having enough pace to catch back up due to the drag of the wets
3rd - 5th
Such a shame to end a good weekend like this but it’s now onward and upward to the next meeting at lydd!
