Rowrah round 3 -
Rowrah Retro Racer Championship round 2-
We set of early Thursday night to make sure we were getting a full nights sleep ready for Friday testing the next day!
We had a positive start with both the Friday and Saturday test days but both coming to an early close due to rain…
I found myself knocking off 10ths each lap and also finding the best line for me!
It rolls round to the Sunday and we’re prepared for a downpour and ….
We definitely got one.
Heat 1:
P12 - P10
With not getting the best start in this heat I already had some ground to make up before the end of the race.
I found myself in P10 by lap 6 and then out of no where I began to put in some of my best lap times ever! (48.357)
Heat 2:
The rain arrives
P5 - DNF
I managed to get my first ever decent start in this race but that was very short lived. Unfortunately due to another driver locking up and going into the back of me I was pushed out on to the bark meaning I was unable to continue my race…
Heat 3:
P6 - P5
It was torrential rain in this heat so I went in to it with a positive mindset as I knew rain was one of my strong points.
During this heat I managed to keep it on track at all times and brought the kart back in to a very proud Dad .
Final:
P9 - DNF
For the final the ground started to dry out and became very greasy.
I got another good start in this heat but before the first lap could even end my race was over.
Another driver couldn’t see me coming after they had spun and re-enter the track as I was entering the corner causing me to hit him.
This has caused damage to the kart but all is repairable.
